Altruistic Advertising?

When you are watching the Super Bowl XLIV commercials today, laughing or not laughing as the case may be, pay special attention to who you are not seeing.

We’ll give you a clue.  It starts with a “P.” (And it might have something to do with the picture to the left)

Already too hammered to guess? It’s Pepsi!  Why?  Well, this year, Pepsi is utilizing social media to push its “Refresh Everything” initiative.  This includes giving $20 million dollars in grants to projects around the nation.

Come Super Bowl time, consumers want entertainment.  That’s why Pepsi has decided not to run a commercial during Super Bowl XLIV.  Something about helping a free healthcare clinic expand its services to the uninsured in rural Tennessee just doesn’t scream drunken party to them.
